People and Things That Went Before

SXSW.header.johnnycash.jpg

To mark its twenty-fifth year, South by Southwest published SXSW Scrapbook, a retrospective capturing the people, performances, and moments that shaped the festival. We were invited to design the 256-page book—developing a visual system that reflects the energy, scale, and cultural impact of SXSW.

GRULKEFEST

Brent Grulke (1961-2012) was my brother and the creative director at SXSW for 18 years.

Grulkefest was a public memorial and benefit concert honoring Brent Grulke—longtime creative director of SXSW and a central figure in its growth. We helped shape the identity and communication for an event that brought together the Austin music community to celebrate his life and legacy.
