Scott and Colleen Gardner are the heart of The Blue Heron Team. We first worked with Colleen during her time at Bamberger Ranch Preserve. When they launched their land stewardship consultancy, they invited us to help define their brand and bring it to life.

The Blue Heron Team provides practical land stewardship services—helping landowners care for soil, water, and biodiversity over time.

Land stewardship is grounded in the health of soil, water, and biodiversity—but it also reflects a deeper ethic.

Aldo Leopold, often considered the father of modern conservation, wrote that ethics arise from the understanding that we are part of a larger community:

“The land ethic simply enlarges the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants, and animals.”

This perspective shaped both their work and the story we helped them tell.
